leslie white

Leslie does a variety of different artworks using different techniques, the pieces I am particularly interested in is the "blind continuous line drawing". Leslie studied blind continuous line drawing, contour, cross contour, negative space, perspective and much more on a six week course. The outcome became simple but busy line works that are just what I was looking for.
These images were created to really begin to 'see' and feel the contours of a subject. Leslie learned to determine angles and measure length. A lot of the drawings were without even looking at the paper, it's amazing the ability one has without even looking at the paper, just using the feel of the surface.
Blind contour line drawing forces you to really look at the object you're drawing. Perhaps more importantly it helps the artist understand that representational drawing is all about observation. Without keen observation skills, the representational artist is lost.
