My Product IDEA 1

For my product I've chosen to produce wine packaging. I've done this because I personally love a glass/bottle of wine and always have. I think wine was a good choice to go with because the packaging isn't just a box you have many different forms and also I can look at the bottle itself and label design. You could have a single box for one bottle, which even then is almost limitless, you could go for a sleek square finish or a funky round casing, you could have a box that enables multiple bottles to go into it, maybe a series of wines showcased together, you can put windows or pull out tabs onto the packaging to show the wine bottle. You could even design a carry box for 6 bottles of wine. The list goes on.
Now, my first idea was for my brand name to be "Doctor's Orders" I think this is quite a 'hip' name to give my company and therefore that will help me decide on my packaging and target audience. Although my target audience will be limited straight away to 18+ I can still specify it even more. I think it will probably be more aimed at women (although men can always buy it I don't mind), and although I was originally thinking of quite young people perhaps 18-30, I'm now thinking someone older might get a kick out of the bottle to. So I've decided my target audience is going to be anyone from the ages of 18-50. Anyway I digress, although my brand name will be Doctor's Orders I intend for each bottle to have an individual name. When researching a came across a bottle called "Rough Day" and that got me thinking of how many other common problems can be solved with a bottle of wine. Thus Doctor's Orders came about, each bottle will have its own cliche reason sort of like prescriptions for example, 'The Worst Date Ever', 'Bad Day At Work', 'The Backstabbing Bitch', 'The Mother In Law' and so on. These individual names will make my packaging more unique as this will be what's written on the boxes. I think because of my idea of each bottle being individual almost that my packaging will also become individual. With the name and idea being quite hip and different I'm torn between either making my packaging design and brand ID vibrant, eye-catching and quirky to add to the different/strange idea OR going with the name Doctor's Orders designing something vintage and old school relating the whole design to the old doctor equipment.
