where to advertise us

A collection of photographs upon entering the art department area, showing possible locations to advertise our department.
When leaving main site there is no clear walk way to follow that leads you to the art building, even if you do know where your going to get to the building it is not 'arty' at all. The mount building although beautiful in structure holds no example that it is surrounded by creativity. Our building further back, the Oscroft Centre, is abysmal. Obviously it is of sound structure but I'm not sure its even obvious theres life inside the building never mind full of creative students and staff. We need something to spice up area, let the people know where we are. I'm thinking going big or go home. Not just in stature but in ideas, we need something outlandish and uncommon that will really make people look as they go by and realise that is an art building. The buildings are protected so nothing can be done on the actually building but the surrounding area is a different ball game. A free for all if you will.

This is the wall right before our building, its big and its plain. What would be really cool is to graffiti all over the wall in bright colours and as it fades away due to the weather let other students make there mark. But, alas, we cannot. So, Im thinking a big sheet draped across the wall that can flow with our natural creativity or a large canvas propped in front of the wall with work on it. I'm unsure exactly what to put on here all I'm thinking is something bright and probably the words art somewhere to give clue that we are walking to the correct area.
Ah the mount, a truly beautiful building. And old. And because of this we can't do anything to it. But the area surrounding the mount is plentiful with many possibilities. The grass and flower bed is ok to use, so I thought why not a giant 'creative' sign spaced out across the lawn. I'll try my best to explain my thoughts, I think each individual word on a springy stick so its strong enough to stay in a rough area but will move with either strong wind or a person interacting with it.
Sign I was previously talking about visible from the main road.
I thought on this un used gazebo thing we could decorate the roof with bizarre illustration. The tree's are overgrown so it's hard to see from the main road, but from the building part of college it would be visible and obviously when you get to the art area it is very visible.
This is the bloody sign we have at the minute for our building. That is half hidden and isn't brazen enough for people to actually notice it. But the area where it is makes sense, its directly where we need to be pointing out, walk up this hill and were here! But something bigger and bolder, it might be cool to use the bushes in the design have something look like its coming out of the bushes and have that holding the sign.
This bit is really pretty! The cute flower bushes is super pretty but would we use the empty space next to it with another sign to keep going this way for the art building?
WE NEED SOMETHING HERE. Something anything to spice this prison looking area up. Theres plenty of space for a sign and we could even look into using the ground and pathway. Im sure the we can draw on the road or anything like that but the path would surely be fine? Perhaps go for a 'yellow brick road' vibe and have an extremely colourful path going up that you can follow.
