Well I think we know by now that clay is not exactly my strong suit and I'm a 100% certain I've proven that with my attempt at today's little project.
For the metamorphoses project we're going to produce some 3D work so we started with what I would of originally said was simple, oh but how I changed my tune. I can't quite put into words what it is that makes clay confuse my brain but it does. So here are my god awful attempts...
Let me tell you a little bit about what I did to create these monstrosities and what I used. So, we were given callipers (a precision tool, if you didn't know) to help measure the correct proportions of the object. I actually think the callipers are an excellent tool and would be very helpful if you were half decent. I think my biggest problem with these clay models were that I was getting the little sections confused with each other and so it didn't end up looking really much like anything the original object does. I also don't know how since I tried to use the callipers but how my models ended up larger than the original. What a nightmare.
I'm really not sure what else to say, so I'll just let these photos of my shoddy attempts speak for themselves.
