When I was casting the imprint of my hand in the plaster (during our experimentation period) it reminded me of high art like marble sculptures/classic art work, with its pure white colour it gave the impression of purity in general. The imprint of the hand is probably one of the simplest but realist pieces you can do, how pure a hand is of a child. The creases and the lines that are pushed into the plaster, that is original and independent for each individual person but on the other hand everyone else has the lines just slightly different.
As I said previously the plaster gives the impression of purity and that links really well with Diana. Diana is a goddess so is alrighty and art work in herself but she is also the goddess of virginity so she is the ultimate pure goddess. Creating a 3D piece using the plaster and linking it with Diana I think will be a good idea. As it could be anything being casted (abstract or not) and link with her.
When I used a larger piece of plaster and tried to twist it I really liked the end outcome. I felt that the natural form of the plaster and the perfectness of it was really being challenged and trying to change. Which is how I think the story goes, Diana this pure goddess, changing a simple man into a stag which leads to his demise, ultimately maybe making her less pure.
The outside of the cast was very organic and real, there were lots of imperfections and there was no section the same contrasting entirely to the inside where my hand had been, it was smooth and and well formed.
